Principal's Message

Welcome students and parents to the 2026-2027 school year!

On behalf of the faculty and staff at Humboldt Elementary School, I am excited to welcome our students and families to a new school year. Our team has been working diligently to prepare engaging learning environments, meaningful instructional experiences, and opportunities for every child to succeed.

We are thrilled to welcome both our returning Panda Families and those joining us for the first time. The first day of school is an exciting opportunity to begin building relationships, establish routines, and setting goals for a successful year. School begins each day at 8:50 a.m. and students are dismissed at 3:15 p.m. Each Wednesday, students are dismissed one hour early to provide dedicated time for teacher collaboration and professional learning focused on improving student achievement.

At Humboldt Elementary School, our mission is to provide a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment where every student is empowered to achieve academic success, develop strong character, and prepare for future opportunities. We recognize that student success is built through a strong partnership among students, families, staff, and the community.

As a Professional Learning Community (PLC), we are committed to ensuring high levels of learning and grade level proficiency for all students. Our staff works collaboratively to identify essential learning standards, monitor student progress, and provide timely support and enrichment so that every child can grow and succeed. Through high-quality instruction, data-driven decision making, and a focus on continuous improvement, we strive to ensure every student reaches their full potential.

At Humboldt Elementary School, we believe:

  • All students WILL learn and achieve at high levels.
  • High expectations combined with high levels of support create success for all learners.
  • Every student deserves access to a rigorous, guaranteed, and viable curriculum.
  • Effective teaching and strong relationships positively impact student achievement.
  • Collaborative decisions should always be student-centered and informed by evidence.
  • Continuous improvement is essential for both students and educators.
  • Ongoing professional learning strengthens instructional practices and student outcome.

We proudly embrace the Humboldt Unified School District vision of partnering with our community to provide excellent education for every student, in every classroom, every day. This vision reflects our commitment to building strong relationships with families and ensuring that every student receives the support and opportunities needed to thrive.

We are also guided by the district mission: "All students will learn at high levels because of what WE do!" This mission reinforces our collective responsibility to provide high-quality instruction, meaningful learning experiences, and the support necessary for every student to succeed. Together, we will continue to foster a culture where students are challenged, supported, and inspired to become lifelong learners.

I am confident that Humboldt Elementary will continue to provide an outstanding educational experience that supports both academic excellence and personal growth. We look forward to partnering with our families throughout the year as we work together to ensure success for every student.

Thank you for entrusting us with your child's education. We are excited for a fantastic 2026-2027 school year and look forward to seeing all of our students learn, grow, and acheive.

Sincerely,
