Principal's Message

Dear Parents, Guardians and Students,

The Humboldt Elementary School Faculty and Staff members proudly welcome you to our school! Humboldt Elementary School has been serving the Dewey-Humboldt community for more than 50 years. If you are new to the community, we especially welcome you and look forward to getting better acquainted with you this year.

We think our school is very special. Humboldt Elementary School has established a tradition of caring for and providing students with the kind of opportunities that will enhance each day and secure their future. The following statement describes our mission and commitment to our students and the Humboldt community:

“We are a community dedicated to teaching, nurturing and supporting our students and families in a safe, respectful and responsible environment in order to ensure success in learning and life.”

The panda is our school mascot. This gentle but strong creature is a fine representative of our school. Our Humboldt Pandas exhibit strength and determination every day as they work to become the best they can be. One of our favorite mottos is “We just can’t hide that Panda Pride.”

The foundation of our school’s success is respect for every unique individual in our school family. We live each day promoting the slogan “Be safe, Be respectful, Be responsible and Be the Best You Can Be.” This year, we will incorporate the “Six Pillars of Character” into our monthly themes. The six traits include caring, trustworthiness, responsibility, fairness, respect and citizenship. Without this emphasis, the high quality of education expected by our parents and community would not be possible. We want the very best for your children. We expect them to give their very best at our school. We trust that you are as committed as we are and will support our efforts.

We are looking forward to a great year. Thank you for your trust. It is a true privilege to have the opportunity to educate and live each day in the presence of your children. If there is any way that our school staff can assist you, please do not hesitate to contact us at 759-4400.

Sincerely yours,

Mr. Cole Young
Principal
